The tibetbook.net journal title database is a simple list of journals that have been published over the last 30 years. The database is work in progress and new journals are beeing added on slowly. The use of the data base is free.
The database shows which journals have been added to the TBN Journal Content Database. Over time it will also serve to show what Tibetan journals and magazines are and have been published within the PRC.
For the time being you will find Eitor, Journal Title, year of first publication, place of publication,ISSN, and a short description.
The category gives an idea of the focus of the publication. "Monastic" is a rather generic classification and applies to the many journals of various content that come from Tibetan monasteries. These journals usually feature articles on history and religion as well as modern and traditional literature.
We aim to build a collection of Tibetan language journals, something much needed since only very few institutions or libraries in or outside Tibet collect Tibetan language perioicals.

This database developed out of personal research interest. It therefore is far from perfect. But we try to get better... If you find any errors, please don't hesitate emailing us.
